Group Booking Terms & Conditions

Here you will find details of important information including booking procedures, changes in booking, force majeure, and cancellations.

These are the General Terms of Service and Cancellation Policy of Perla norðursins hf., kt. 561115-1680, Varmahlíð 1 (Öskjuhlíð), 105 Reykjavík, Iceland.

These terms and policies apply to all guests visiting Perlan purchasing their services and products at https://www.perlan.is, hereafter the “website”

1. Services and Products

All services and products are listed on the following website: https://www.perlan.is/en/group-bookings (login: perlanagent).

Perlan may change Services and Products at any time. Changes will not affect any Purchase Orders already submitted by the Agent and confirmed by Perlan via e-mail. 

2. Prices

All prices for services and products are listed on the following website: https://www.perlan.is/engroup-bookings (login: perlanagent).

Perlan may change the Price List at any time. Changes to list prices will not affect any Purchase Orders already submitted by the Agent and confirmed by Perlan via e-mail.

3. Agents

Agents selling Perlan services and products need to be approved by Perlan.

Before an Agent is approved by Perlan, Perlan has the authority to do a credit check on the Agent beforehand.

The Agent shall bear all risk of non-payment by customers and the Agent shall solely be responsible for all of its costs and expenses.

4. Booking Procedures

All bookings under these terms for services and products should be made to Perlan sales department with an email to [email protected].

Once a booking is registered by the sales department the Agent will receive a confirmation email. A booking is not confirmed until Perlan has sent a confirmation email to the Agent.

Please note that it is the Agent ́s responsibility to give the booking reference (barcode or QR code) to the guest before the visit. Each booking reference and barcode can only be used once.

All bookings are made at a specific date and time. Should guests arrive outside of the scheduled time Perlan cannot guarantee the availability of the booked service.

5. Payment

Perlan issues an invoice to the Agent after each customer’s visit with a due date 10 days later.

Pre-payments may be applicable for special events at the restaurant.

All amounts due shall be paid by the Agent to Perlan in full without any set-off, counterclaim, deduction, or withholding.

Any amount not paid when due will bear penalty interest from the due date until paid, on the basis of Article 6 of Act No 38/2001 on Interest and Price Indexation.

6. Amendments and Cancellations

If the Agent wishes to make any changes to the confirmed booking (order) the Agent shall send Perlan the request via e-mail at [email protected] and refer to the original Purchase Order number. Agents cannot change the date of a booking after the originally selected date has passed.

6.1 Museum and Observation Deck

In order to change or cancel a booking under these terms the following restrictions apply for the museum and observation deck:

Number of guests 11 - 50 - Minimum Cancelation 72 hours
Number of guests 51 - 99 - Minimum Cancelation 4 weeks
Number of guests 100  - Minimum Cancelation 12 weeks unless otherwise is stated

For bookings canceled with less than the abovementioned notice please note that the full price of the original booking will be charged.
Please note that the abovementioned cancellation notice refers to the booked time of arrival.

6.2 Restaurant

In order to change or cancel a booking under these terms the following restrictions apply for the restaurant:

Number of guests 11 - 50 - Minimum Cancelation 24 hours
Number of guests 51 - 99 - Minimum Cancelation 48 hours
Number of guests 100  - Minimum Cancelation 72 hours

Agents can change the booking up to 24 hours by adding or deducting guests from the booking. Maximum changes are 5 people. The agent will be charged in accordance with confirmed booking even if fewer guest arrives.

For bookings canceled with less than the abovementioned notice please note that the full price of the original booking will be charged.

7. Force majeure

Perlan reserves the right to change or cancel all bookings in the case of unforeseen circumstances which prevent Perlan from operating in a regular manner.

This applies to situations such as war, rebellion, risk of infectious disease, labor dispute, strike, lockout or interruption or failure of electricity or heating service, natural disaster (including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane), or any comparable situations. In these cases, all booking changes are made in collaboration with the Travel Agent.

8. Liability Limitations

Perlan cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made by the Travel Agent when supplying the information to Perlan sales department nor for any potential damages, direct or indirect, relating to such mistakes.

9. General provisions

Agents agree that any claim, action, or lawsuit arising out of these terms and conditions and/or the services/products purchased, shall be interpreted, and governed in conformity with Icelandic law. For any legal dispute which may arise, both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and competence of the Judges and Courts of the town of Reykjavík, Iceland.

10. Terms Amendments

We reserve the right to change these Terms of Service and Cancellation Policy at any time. The date of the last revision of these Terms of Service is set in this document.

Your continued use of Perlan webpage after any such modifications will constitute your acknowledgment of the modified Terms and agreement to abide by the modified Terms
